Williams graduate placement

Does anyone have empirical data on the number of applicants from Williams to law and medical school, as well as the number accepted? Generally, in what respects does attendance assist in the application process? What can Williams offer that other schools can't?

The mountains!(lets)

A couple of things, you asked the other person who got in off the waitlist where they are deciding between. The same question goes for you. To be able to explain what Williams offers as compared to Amherst or Swarthmore is very different from University of Michigan Honors College or USC.

When not comparing to anything, what does it offer? It offers one of the top LAC educations in the US. Williams has the Entries system in the dorms for first years. If you are interested in study abroad, it has the option to study at Oxford University (Exeter College). They have great math programs, they are into supporting their athletics. It just depends on what you are looking for.

As far as empirical evidence, if you explore the Williams website, I am sure that the statistics for law school and medical school are available. Unfortunately, as you are probably pointing out there is the question as to whether there is manicuring of the acceptance rates by discouraging some students from applying. That is a bit more challenging to discover. If you are there, you should try to ask students, if you talk to upperclass students, it is likely that even if they aren’t directly impacted, they may know of someone.
