Winter 2015 Transfer

@Yakisaka @Hbkelly‌ 3.5?? really?? that seems high for a non-impacted major. i would think anything above 3 would be good enough. thats crazy! its like we’re applying to CalTech or something

@WillyMisfit‌ You made me laugh hardly! I actually don’t know why CPP reject us. One of my friends got in with 2.6 Hospitality major on Fall 2014. That’s why I am going to appeal (just give a try). Also, I thought winter section is more benefit for us this is why I only applied for one school for winter. Now I feel so shame and pity for myself. Do you have a high GPA or you are in the service area?

@Yakisaka my GPA is hard to calculate because I’m not sure how many credits will transfer. I think I’m around a 3.4. Im close by but not technically in the service area (norco college) I am a veteran so I hope thats helping my chances.

3.38 if all my classes transfer (which i know they wont)

No way, those are high GPAs, this must be a system error? Someone confirm their denial with admissions

Just checked, status changed to “Admitted Clear” What the heck does that mean? i never got an email or anything

I am going to view a counselor or something to see what happen…but the chance is slim…

I’m pretty sure that means you got in!! Congrats @WillyMisfit‌

Thats good news @Hbkelly, i hope they send me an email soon to let me know what my next steps are.

You guys should really appeal, i mean those are high GPAs for non impacted majors. I wonder if they saw that they were getting close to the decision deadline and they just didnt want to go through the work of reviewing all the applications

I got an email last night and got denied as well. Best of luck to all of you who will appeal, I am just glad I had already committed to CSULB. @Yakisaka CSULB hopefully treats you better, they have a way better system and they don’t torture you with the waiting. Their whole process only takes about two weeks after you turn your transcripts in. Good luck everyone!

Is anyone going to try to appeal? I think I’m just going to try again for next fall term, and just go to Cal State LA for now. Kind of sucks because I will have to live out there since commuting every day is going to be a huge hassle.

Just went to the counselor, she said the denial reason is not updated yet in the system since it happened yesterday. But she has a feeling because of that not available seats for my major. Plus Mtsac and citrus will take all the seats by first. She said she will email me once she got a real reason from someone else.

To those going to CSULA, you are in good hands. Students are very modest, helpful and friendly. The same can be said about the professors. The administration is also very helpful. It is a university where everyone is trying to bring others up instead of competing with each other.

same thing I was told, but also an appeal is not completely pointless. An appeal maybe successful if someone who was accepted vacates the seat and you just happen to be the next in line. That is of course a slim chance! fall 2015 here I come… I hope… grats to all that got in! For those who didn’t, don’t give up on your dreams!

GPA: 3.009
Major: Apparel Merchandising & Management
Original school: Santa Monica College
Decision: Rejected

My application for admission was denied as well; however I am considering to appeal because I was accepted for Fall 2014 back in February. I didn’t pass a class during the spring semester that was a CSU GE- Breadth Requirement (Stats), after speaking with an adviser she told me to apply for Winter 2015. She said that my admission for Fall 2014 was provisional and would be revoked due to falling short of one class. So I took the class over the summer and passed; therefore, now fulfilling the requirements. In my case I thought it was very unclear how the school communicated with me through Bronco Direct because I had two applications going on at the same time . Hence, the reason why I may have been rejected.

Fast forward to earlier today I spoke with Admissions and they suggested I make an appointment with an adviser (or drop in Fridays from 1-4 pm) and start the admissions appeal package. I hope to make a supported claim that results in a successful appeal.

@SealBeach‌ are you currently attending CSULA? If so, how is the area around there? And do you happen to know any good apartment complexes close to the school?

Still not feel very well since then…how about everyone else?

Me neither @Yakisaka‌ really disappointed.

i have been still waiting for the response and nothing has been updated in my account.I am literally loosing my patience and don’t know what do.I just wanna hear Yes or NO…

my GPA: 3.8 and i didnt know if i need more or not to be accepted there
