Winter (February vs. April)

I'm thinking of doing an overnight (Thursday + Friday) visit sometime in mid-February (accepted EA). Is the social life different in, say, freezing winter, than it is in April (like during the admitted students weekend)? Note: I'm from CA, and people here tend to get more sad/melancholy/antisocial in the winter...

P.S. How would one get to UChicago from the airport?

Sad during a Cali winter? I think they would end up sad all year round at Chicago.

I do sometimes get a bit ticked at the rain in the winter, but that is the first time I have ever heard someone say that we in Los Angeles get seasonal depression. SoCal is not Miami, but you must be speaking of the lousy weather in the Bay Area.

How to get to campus from the aiport:

I am looking out the window now and it is sunny, warm 60+ degrees on top of a hill… where is the lousy weather? :)

You should fly into Midway, the school is only half an hour from the airport.

@artloversplus I’m just sayin’ :)

Gotta love those Chicago winters.

50 degrees and sunny today in Chicago.
Snow possible tomorrow.

Are you kidding me? Thus far, Chicago has the best winter in the entire country! Where else can you see sunny, 50-degree weather?

Quick update on Chicago weather. Over a half foot of snow in the past 24 hours

Haha! Sounds like Chicago. Sunny and 50 one day, buried in snow the next. Makes campus look like a Winter Wonderland. I enjoy the pics–from afar. :)
