Winter Transfer to UM?

I applied for fall 2009 admission with a 3.5ish GPA, 28 ACT, and got waitlisted. I started at Eastern Michigan last fall and have 24 credits there. I have a 3.8 GPA and am registered for 17 credits next semester, meaning that by the time I get to UM I will have 40 transferable credits + 3 of elective credit from my AP score. I am on the Dean's List and in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars; I played in the EMU Orchestra; I worked at the University of Michigan Museum of Archaeology this past year training as a docent; I audited 15 hours of classes at Michigan; I coached Academic Games at local middle schools; I am starting a Mythology Club at a local middle school as well; I was in the Astronomy Club; and I took piano lessons this past year.

It's not a great resumee, but do you think I have a shot at getting into U of M for Winter?

Yea I think you have a great shot at transferring winter semester.

g’luck bro!

I like your chances too – especially since you were waitlisted, plus you’ve gone on to “show” them you can perform. Usually they prefer you’ve completed two years elsewhere, but I’d apply now and just reapply if they don’t go for the winter transfer. BTW, you know the deadline is Oct. 1 for winter transfer, right? Make sure you get your transcript, letter of recc from profs etc. a.s.a.p. Good luck!
