Just how bad is the winter in Wooster?

Winter? Winter is great. Scarves, mittens, boots. Snow. Maybe a storm that cancels classes (maybe not). The campus looks different than it did in the fall. The Lowry fireplace is glowing. Frost and icicles. Snowball fights. Packing the Holden Arch with snow. Winter! Who doesn’t like winter?

Now then, spring in Wooster, that might get to you. Rain. More rain. Mud. Gloom. But pretty soon, glory arrives. Blue skies. Warmth. Breezy kite days. The trees start to bud. Springtime in Ohio, so welcome.

If you don’t like the change of the seasons, go somewhere else.

No lake effect snow in Wooster, so milder than Cleveland, Chicago, Erie and Buffalo, if that helps.

Ici gave a good summary, pretty much - the only big drawback during the winter would be if your travels to Wooster have to take you through one or more of the lake effect cities that were spoken of - my D has had at least one “nail-biter can’t see two inches in front of your face” trip either to or from Wooster each year with the lake-effect driving…

Actually, Wooster gets the tail end of lake effect. I live 18 miles south of wooster and have been in blinding snow and by the time I get home there is nothing!

I enjoyed the winters except that they sometimes dragged on a little too long.
