Does Duke have a wireless internet connection all around campus? Is it only in certain areas, such as the dorms...etc?

It used to be pretty much everywhere besides the dorms. But they are currently installing a bunch more wireless stuff around campus, including supposed support throughout the dorms. That said there will always be some places on campus that you can go and not get wireless but they aren't places you'd really need it anyway.

Duke University: home to world's largest 802.11n wireless network - Engadget

Duke is actually home to the biggest and fastest wireless network.

when does it say this wireless network will be ready?

^^Well, that's not 100% true that Duke is home to the largest wireless network. It is the home to the largest 802.11*n* wireless network, but I believe there are larger b and g ones. 802.11n has not even been formally finalized by the IEEE yet - it is expect to be so in 2009. So, companies are just betting that the final version won't be much different from the draft version so as to get a competitive advantage. That's why other places haven't installed them yet - because it is a bit of a risk.

Just read the article....maybe I'm wrong. Made it seem like it's the largest WLAN network in the world, but didn't state it directly without the "n".

re wireless in dorms:

Freshman year, a certain student installed a wireless router above the ceiling tile in the hall of said student's dorm for the benefit of many. Making no claims that this was either unique or legal....just saying....

wireless is everywhere that you cant plug into the wall.

it's completely fine and is only getting better.
