Wish I knew how hard college will be for me...

Trying to decide at the moment what will be best for me, a harder more accredited college or a smaller easier one. Money isn't much of a factor. The main problem is that I am a above average student at my high school but my class size is only about 150 so that's not saying much. I have made A's and B's throughout my HS career and have a 24 on the ACT at the moment. Our school doesn't pride much in teaching us alot about studying or how to take notes and I think that is what will hurt me the most. I really want to go to a bigger college that will be harder but when it comes down to it I just don't know if I could make it and definitely do not want to flunk out as a freshman. Whereas if I went to the smaller one I am almost sure I could pass with ease. I just wish I knew how hard exactly each college will be. I guess you could say I am a little scared but then again who isn't? Anyone have any advice for me?

Thanks!

I wouldn’t be a good person to reply to this because I don’t know too much about the topic, but if you post it in the parent’s forum, I’m sure you’ll get lots of helpful responses :)

I was afraid of taking Honors Geometry in the 9th grade because I thought it would be too hard.

But after I took it I found it to be very easy. I’m not saying college will be easy.

But you’ll always have a “What if” if you choose the easy way in life. Keep that in mind when deciding.

Approach every situation like you’re going to win it. I was talking to my dad about the possibility of getting into med-school nowadays with the acceptance rate being so low.

He said, “So what?” and told me to go cut the grass.

I guess my point is, I’ve adopted the mentality that if I really want something, I’m going to get it. It doesn’t matter if it’s a medical school acceptance letter, a house, a job, a girl, or the title of ping-pong champion. If it’s attainable and I care enough, it’s mine.

You’re a CCer, we’re the cream of the crop. Why should anything be “too difficult” for us?

^ I agree. If u want something what’s stopping you? Go get it!

You can do ANYTHING if you put your mind to it. No college class is too hard once you adopt this mentality. Just do what it takes.

^^A 24 ACT? Doesn’t mean he can’t be as smart as anyone on here, but it does mean college will kick his ass in exercising his brain in the same way that an out-of-shape player would get pounded in conditioning, at least for a bit.

Also do you realize how entitled you sound right now? I’m not saying getting to be a doctor (or whatever you want to do with a med school cert) is impossible without getting accepted first time around etc., but a girl? Sometimes you really just can’t get what you want. “If it’s attainable and I care enough”-- attainable is relative.

p.s. of course b/c you are a CCer, you most likely will do med school.

A 24 ACT is actually above average. He should be fine at a decent state school.

I’m pretty sure if I want a girl I’m going to get her.

It may take years of stalk-- I mean being her friend, but she’ll be mine one day ;)

Some things are impossible though

Like, I’m going to be the best basketball player in the entire galaxy AND I’M GOING TO E BETTER THAN JORDAN SHAQUILLE AND WILT CHAMBERLAIN COMBINED!

Yet you’re 5 foot 1…

Some things ARE impossible to get, no matter how hard you try.

ya it’ll take years of being her friend then u can get her.

years? for a girl? or was that an exaggeration? lol

lol I think someone’s being a lil silly here futurevpfinance that’s y I asked the preceding Q!!!

If he’s looking to improve on a 24 ACT, he’s come to the right place. That’s a good start.

I’m saying, have a James Bond mentality. Be smooth, smart, confident, collected and willing to put in the time and you’ll get where you want to be. As far as I’m concerned, if a girl uses her God-given free will and rejects me, her loss. I’m not in denial, I just never see myself as a loser.

Responding to the guy’s question: I don’t know how “hard” college will be. It’s subjective and different depending on what school, what classes etc. But I do know that if you want to get stronger, you lift weights. Worrying about how heavy the weights are doesn’t do that for you, ya dig?

PS: I don’t even want to know if I want med-school yet. I’m just looking at the situation and thinking that I eventually could.
