With an excellent essay alone, is it possible for a school to admit you?

<p>Is it possible for a admissions representative to accept you because he or she loved the character represented in the paper, and didn't want to reject you? (Assuming your grades + SAT scores + extracurriculars were around or a little below average) </p>
