JHS, I beg to differ that 750 isn’t a good score for Math2, Adcoms should be smart enough to know that it’s a self-selecting group that takes the Math2. Even scoring an 800 “only” gives you a percentile rank of 90. On the Math1 you can get a score of 730 and be in the 90th percentile.

Faux nom, since Yale is pretty clear, I’d be inclined to try once more with the math subject test.

Mathmom, I didn’t say that 750 “isn’t a good score” on Math L2. I think I said that it is not “super-impressive”. It’s a fine score, but not necessarily more overwhelmingly powerful than the 35 he got on the ACT math component.

I’ve seen an online transcript and it doesn’t have any test scores on it, so I assume the printed transcript will be the same.

Those are final grades. Unfortunately, the (honors) science grades are worse: B, C+, B. All of his other subjects are A’s or A-'s, across the board. But for whatever reason, the math and science grades suffer. I don’t think it is so much because he has trouble with the concepts (his ACT math and science section scores were actually his highest), but a lower level of interest, which translates into less effort on his part.

Your S is in a tough spot. Those test scores will only go so far to “help out” the transcript. Almost every admissions site I go to emphasizes high school record and rigor of courses. (From the most selective, to the next tier including Penn State, Univ of GA, even Marist College…which was referenced recently on another thread.) Some colleges re-calculate GPA for core subject courses, only …and…the science and math grades could very well impact the type of schools you will characterize as reach, match and safety.

As I’m sure you know, looking at common set data and stats of admitted students gives a better idea of the range of grades the school actually admits.

Given the range of grades on the transcript, submitting all of the assorted tests may not “hurt” the application at all.

hahaha sorry sacchi for never replying, i’ve been busy these past few weeks.
anyways, yes, but the act kept my middle school scores. is this normal?? it costs something rediculous like $27 or something to send each middle school score = $54 additionally if i have to send them in.

hey, I am a high school senior in india. my first attempt at sat was 2230 (M-770, CR-760, W-700). i was irritated with the score (i expected around 2300) and gave it again in june this year. this time i got a score i never expected - 2370 (M-800,CR-800, W-770).
so i am in a slight fix. There are colleges with a score use policy of “highest section V2” i.e they will see the highest section scores across all test dates but strongly encourage you to give all the scores". Princeton, Reed and many others have this policy and they happen to be on my list. So what scores do I send?
I am of course tempted to send only the second score but i a afraid if there will be some problem if i don’t send all scores. Please advise.
