Withdrawing Applications

I got into a college early decision, and I was wondering how I should withdraw my other applications. Do I mail the school? Call them? And what do I write in the letter if it should be mailed?

Snail-mail or e-mail them (e-mail is preferable because it's faster) and let them know that you are withdrawing your application because you were accepted somewhere else ED. It's good form to thank them for their time and assistance in the application process, too, especially if you had a lot of contact with admissions. It doesn't need to be long or complicated.

If you listed an e-mail address on your application, you should probably e-mail them from that one. And if they gave you an application ID number ( like Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.) include it or if they only asked for Social Security Number, like Tulane, I'd include that in the short note.

So they know the e-mail is coming from you and can act on it.
