Withdrawing from university to go to community college

Hi, I am currently a junior majoring in computer science. I have done very poorly these past three years and feel like I wouldn’t be equipped to handle a job after graduating. I kind of want to make a fresh start by going to a local cc and getting an associates degree in computer science. I want to retake some of the introductory classes so I can build up the fundamentals that I lack. Do you guys think this is a waste of time? Should I just continue finish my bachelor’s degree?

What exactly is ‘very poorly’? If you’re a junior, you presumably have passed 60+ credits…

Couldn’t you do some concentrated online coursework over the summer to rebuild “fundamentals that you lack,” then persist in getting your bachelor’s degree? Or spend an extra year earning your BS if you/your parents can afford that? I am not sure how getting an associates degree over pretty much the same amount of time that it will take to complete your BS will help you to be “more equipped to handle a job after graduation.”

Why not spend one more year or two and try to improve?

I have a 2.4 gpa but that is beside the point. My problem is I don’t feel comfortable entering the workforce with my level of understanding of computer science and programming. I was thinking that retaking some classes at a local cc would help. Any thoughts?

Sorry didn’t see posts above. Of course spending extra time at my university would be the better option if I had the money. I wish I could retake all the classes that I got C’s or D’s in but that means another year or two of tuition at a private university. I am only considering community college because it is more cost efficient.
