I need to withdraw from USC. How do I go about withdrawing after I have enrolled? I was accepted elsewhere and have enrolled at the school. I called the office and they told me to email my admissions counselor and that she would take care of it. I have yet to hear back. Will I get in trouble for still being enrolled at USC?
So long as you don’t accept any money, don’t worry about it. They’ll contact you when you don’t enroll. Been there done that.
If you sent an email to the counselor you should be fine, however if you want to feel better, forward that same email to the general admissions email address. Include your USC id to make it easier and clear.
@SeattleTW My concern is that I submitted my enrollment. I don’t quite understand why you mean when you say they will contact me when I don’t enroll. I already am enrolled.
@CADREAMIN The counselor still has not emailed me back. The general admissions said they would “withdraw my application” per my request. Is this the same as them saying that I am no longer a student there? That I am officially withdrawn?
You are NOT enrolled at USC. You accepted their offer or admission. You have done all you need to do. BTW, you may forfeit your deposit.
Yes, what ^^^^said. You are officially withdrawn/not enrolled and when they said they are withdrawing your application, they are basically saying you “never existed” to them (except for that deposit they will keep). You are done, go enjoy life elsewhere and good luck!
@TomSrOfBoston and @CADREAMIN Thank you for clarifying. (: I wasn’t aware there was a difference between accepting an offer of admission and enrolling. Sorry about my confusion.
