hey,
was thinking of applying ED to WLU. I want to major in business. How good would WLU be for a business degree? Its ranked pretty low for undergrad business. Anyway, if anyone here if from Williams school, what are the classes like, the professors like and whats the company recruiting like. Any inside scoop would be much appreciated.

and could anyone help me with chances of getting in?

my stats:

Sat : 1430 (old sat) verbal - 760 ; math - 670
toefl - 230 to 290 (awaiting results) - expecting around 280

o levels - 8 subjects ; 1 A*, 6 A's, 1 B

doing my A levels in Maths, Pyschology, Economics (majors) and English literature & language, Sociology (minors).

top quater of my batch; topped two subs last year and good gardes in others. giving my finals now, a lil scared taht ill screw up.

ec's - mountain biking at a national level. lotsa races.

president of teh mtb club at school. a few positions and membership in clubs here and there. done major plays in school and best vice president in mun. organised sm big stuff in school. quite active. chosen and sponsord by Birit council for a youth conference sorta. work experience in a couple of places.

social service. around 250 hours or so . no awards or anything, but in lotsa places.

First off, your stats look fairly good to me, at least compared to the American student pool, it's probably harder for internationals.

W&L is the ONLY liberal arts college among the top 25 with a nationally accredited business school, the Williams school has been accredited by the AACSB since 1927. So if you want an accredited business program at a top LAC, W&L is the only way to go. (It's the same with journalism)

The Williams School (or the C-school as we like to call it) is a very important part of campus, about 30% of University degrees come from the C-School, which is a large percentage considering the vast majority of major choices fall under the College and not the C-School. The C-School has top professors, arguably the best at the University, EVERY member of the C-school faculty has a Ph.D.

In terms of recruiting, career services sponsors many fairs here at W&L and invites many grad programs and major companies to campus for presentations. Also, the C-School sponsors many opportunities for internships with major firms (mostly in New York).

So for accounting, management, ecomomics, politics or public policy majors, W&L is easily the best choice out of the LAC's.

shouldnt it be easier for internationals?

no idea but i'll ask around

would appreciate it.
