i would like it to be condi (rather than hillary, whose only accomplishment until 2000 was to be bill clinton's wife and stood by him when he was getting a blow job)

but...a women and a minority??? not going to happen in my lifetime..condi is running an uphill battle...

"I have no problems with Clinton, except that us Dems need a candidate that wont embarass himself/herself or enrage half the country, and Hilary unfortunately fails on both counts. We need a uniter, not another polarizer like Bush, which is why I like McCain a lot- he's respected by people on both sides, and is easily one of the only Republicans I will vote for."

McCain would be an incredible candidate in the run off, but he can't win in the primaries. He's not conservative enough. Until the Republican party gets rid of the extremely conservative religious fanatics McCain won't make it in the primaries. I am still sad about his 2000 defeat by Bush. Bush ran a really dirty campaign against him. Another big contender for The Republican party is Rudy or Arnold. Personally, I think that both lack the experience for the job, but their reputations are good for political support.

Another person who will not win but deserves support is the Lieberman. He is very moderate and has lots of experience.

Essentially impossible for any side. The problem stems from the very nature of all primary voters, who are usually more involved in politics (more so than mainstream voters) and therefore participate in primaries in the first place. As a result, primary voters are much less middle-of-the-road in general and will select the candidates that agree with their own strong ideals. "Moderates" like McCain and Leiberman typically don't win the nomination.

Yes, Arnold isn't a US citizen, but that can always be changed.

Doesn't the president have to be born on US soil? And since Arnold was born in Europe (Austria was it?) that means he'd never have a shot at it.

In regards to Rice vs. Clinton... I am in no way against a woman president, but bah, I don't like either of those choices. I'd be willing to bet that Hilary Clinton would win if she did run, at least the popular vote anyway. She seems to have a big following.

I have a lot of respect for Rice, but she has a bad personality for a politician. She isn't warm like most candidates. It's hard for me to see her campaigning in general. Also, I don't know political views on the domestic front.

...that's really....uh....disturbing. some dedication that guy has. my condolences to any nebraskan woman who would be subjected to having ah-nold in her womb.

Yeah why exactly are some people so eager to change the constitution (no small feat) just so Arnold can run? He's a terrible govenor - I would hate to see him in the Oval. I think its just the novelty of the idea of having a foreign-born celebrity or a woman in the office of the president that motivates people to support this, and its less about the issues or what kind of politician they are.

pftt... give some specific examples of why he's so "terrible" please.
[/quote]
First off he is a slimy one. He posts ads in Nevada with him saying "California wants your businesses" if he's president I wouldn't doubt it if he goes to Canada and does the same. Secondly, he is a money waster. Right now he's in Washington trying to get money for California from EVERYONE'S taxes not just californians. And lastly he can't really pronounce California that greatly. =D

"why NOT hilary? what's wrong with her? i mean politically..."

She is a terrible politician; politicians smile, speak, and shake hands. Hillary can do none of the above as well as her husband, regardless of the views she may hold. She almost reminds me of a female Dick Nixon, although obviously in a different party.
