My son is trying to attach his essay to Clemson App, there is no active button to do so even though the line shows up. Is the essay required, optional, not wanted? Perhaps gliche in system? Anyone have this issue?
Is your son applying via the direct application at clemson.edu? If so, both essays need to be typed in – or you can copy and paste from a separate document. I don’t believe there is a way to attach a document. I believe the first essay regarding activities is required, and the second is optional. It’s been a few weeks since my son submitted his. Good luck!
No, it’s through the coalition app. He has attached it to other schools so not sure why Clemson isn’t working.
Clemson does not require an essay. Acceptance is stats driven.
Thank you, do understand it is stats driven. But it seems some are attaching essays? It won’t allow him to upload it. Have others submitted the essay from coalition app prompts?
@tonils Clemson does not accept essays
Thanks!
Yes, an essay is required. It will need to be copied and pasted into the space provided in the Coalition app. I know other schools allowed it to be attached, but Clemson was one of a few where it needed to be copied and pasted. Good luck.
@mommamo1 Clemson does not require an essay.https://www.clemson.edu/admissions/undergraduate/
My son applied in September. There was an essay. @carolinamom2boys @tonils
@mommamo1 There is an optional essay, one is not required. My DS16 applied and was accepted at Clemson , there is no required essay. My DS19 applied in August when the app opened . There is no required essay. Did you open the link that I posted from Clemson’s website?
My D19 applied this summer and there was an optional essay. Not the same as the Coalition essay prompts so there is no way to upload it.
This is what is listed on the Coalition App:
Write a brief few paragraphs or short essay in the provided text field. Focus your remarks on any points you believe to be important in the evaluation of your application, including your academic background, other achievements, educational objectives or career goals. If you are an international student, briefly describe your educational objectives in the United States and your reasons for choosing Clemson University. (This section is optional).
