i think you’re looking pretty solid for WashU, USC, U Colorado Boulder, maybe duke. SAT I and II are both pretty weak, maybe consider retaking? good grades and such, but honestly, all the applicants to yale, stanford, etc. will have at least that. i’m sorry but there isn’t much that distinguishes you from other high-achievers. your ECs are good, but not that impressive in comparison.

my advice to you would be to focus in a couple of specific areas and REALLY do something prominent in those areas. best of luck!

State champ in track and not recruited? I know of a kid, Asian, with 2100s, got a Columbia ED thanks to track, for being merely a state semifinalist. Are you not looking at top liberal arts schools? (apparently these division III schools will recruit at even lower levels)

I don’t know man. I feel like Valedictorian + Class President + Two varsity sports + SAT falling around the median = admit at Brown and Duke, even not taking race into account, unless you’re a freakish anomaly at your high school and it had never to this date produced a student with 1800+ going to a college out of your state. And YPS would be a reach for anyone anyways.

Come drop me a line if you find time! Good luck!

Thank you both for your replies. While I may be a state champ, it is in a smaller state and in the small school division, so my times would probably only be good enough to be a walk on for many of the schools listed. I’m not quite sure how much that would factor into admissions decisions. The only school that has shown interest is Wash U., a Division III school. The school I attend is a good school, but in no way a stand out. The last time it sent a student to an Ivy was I think 3-4 years ago to Brown.
