I start with random word. Today went quicker than other days. (Yesterday I spent much time on it and never got it. Tried a lot of guess/unreal words too). I was pleased to get it in 4.

I had all wrong 1st 5 letters, 2 yellow 2nd 5 letters and then I luckily guessed in 3rd. Was just trying to place the 2 letters I got correct.

This will teach me to try starting with ADIEU instead of my usual starter word. I’d rather uncover/rule out common consonants - I seem to better at figuring out the word if I know more about the consonants. There are far fewer vowels to mentally try out!

I’ve been sucked in, and now have a protocol. About half the time I get it in 4, the rest of the time almost always in 3 or 5.
I start with “beach” because it has most of the common uncommon consonants and two common vowels. If that doesn’t give me really good results (meaning mentally plugging in common consonants isn’t easy for the second word), I follow up with “noisy” because it rounds out the vowels and common consonants. If I get desperate, my third word is “trump”.
