So I tried absurdle and I am not finding it more challenging, at least what I’ve tried so far. If I understand correctly the algorithm is designed to give you as few or no letters at all in your first two guesses. So by my third word I’m getting the clues. It’s basically wordle starting at word three and they say the best you can do is 4 tries. But it’s actually easier than wordle at that point because you’ve already eliminated 10 letters. I’ve gotten them all in 5 and 6 tries.
I’ve played quite a few Absurdle’s so far. I find this is typical.
If you click on the ?, it tells you that it can change the word as you guess. I’ve had a few I’ve guessed in five tries. The absolute minimum anyone can guess the word is in four attempts. So in theory, it is likely to always be more challenging than Wordle.
Anyway, back to Wordle…
P.S. Before anyone gets annoyed, Absurdle generates a unique word for each play.
Got it in 4 today. H got it in 3 and was thrilled to beat me! He did say it probably had something to do with the word!

Made a really dumb mistake today. On 2nd try, I had the first 3 letters … .yay. But somehow I forgot that first try had a Yellow not in 2nd try.

On the site I use to play random words, there’s something called “hard mode” that doesn’t let me make unforced/careless errors like forgetting prior letters. I guess it’s called “hard” because you can’t ignore the letters you know and throw out a word filled with other common letters. But for me it’s a lifesaver when I’m playing mindlessly…so more like “easy mode”.

Slow start for me today! I didn’t get ANY clues with my first two rounds. Then, got it in 5. It always amazes me how quickly options narrow down…
