Does anybody have a recommending book for sentence completion section in SAT? I heard the book "Word Smart" is helpful. Is that one book enough for the preparation?

Many have recommended using Direct Hits I and II. It has the highest probability rate of appearing on the actual SAT. However…I have just read and completed past SAT passages and completions, and, for each word that I don’t know, I write it down and make a list on my computer.

This Princeton Review book is quite good for preparing the core SAT vocabulary. That is to say, enough to get a 16 or 17 out of the 19 sentence completions correct on the SAT. If you have more subjective resources (time, determination, zeal) available, then try doing the Barron’s 3400 word list to get almost all of them right.

I recommend the essential 500 words by Larry krieger. The author of the fire and second volumes of direct hits was him. It also includes roots and practice problems.
