Words To Describe Claremont McKenna College

What would be some adjectives to describe the school?
Characteristics that would be distinctive only to CMC

Words are hard.

But I definitely love the commitment the school has in its students.

It's hard to come up with one that ONLY describes CMC, but it is a lot of fun

Do u think CMC is generous to give financial aid to International students?

that i don't know about... my roommate is from singapore. I just asked her and she said that it is kind of harder for int'l students to get financial aid because you do not reside here. However, I would contact the financial aid office for information on that. My roommate came to CMC on a scholarship she applied for in Singapore that funded her attendance here. If CMC's process is too complicated, look around in your country for scholarship opportunities. :D

My words to describe CMC: I can't really pick single adjectives... but I love the personal attention here, I'm only a freshman and I was already having a long conversation with one of my professors today. Also, WELL-ROUNDED is a good word. You've got a huge load of nerdy Jocks that also do a load of other things such as debate union, singing groups, political clubs, etc. You name it.. someone is probably in it. I just feel really relaxed at CMC. It's small, I'll admit... but that has its perks when you only need to walk 3 minutes to get to your class.

I could honestly go on and on about CMC...

^ lol, CMC is not well-rounded. It's very focused on pre-professionalism. Business, law, etc.

I disagree-- many CMCers are actually very well-rounded. The school as a whole has a focus, but many students as individuals have a variety of interests.

Even though many students major in government or economics, many of them have other interests too. A person can be an econ major, but also love psychology and ball room dance.

I don't think there's a significant difference in how well-rounded the average CMC student is versus, say, a Pomona student. Pomona has a more even distribution of majors, but that has no bearing on how well-rounded any given student is.

In fact, many CMC students are involved in tons of extracurricular activities. The typical CMC student was the kid in high school who was student body president, editor of the newspaper, on the soccer team, and model UN president. CMC students tend to be ambitious, active, and passionate.

I think it's an all too common misperception that CMC students are all these business/politics automatons. The truth is very different-- although business and politics are pretty popular...

pragmatic
leadership

jock school.
