I have been working at a busy medical clinic (office assistant...the doctor also taught me things that medical assistants do) for the past 3 years and a medical instruments supplier (I have to take inventory and memorize most of the instruments/machines) for 2 years. I plan on taking the pre-med curriculum and Neuroscience major at JHU. However, I have hardly volunteered at the local hospital for two reasons:
1. The volunteer program barely gives you a taste of real medicine...they just have you deliver videos to the patients.
2. So many people are in this program that all 'good' hours (after school/on weekends) are taken and i have to plan hours a month ahead of time...my schedule is always changing and unpredictable.

Does my other medical experience make up for not volunteering at the hospital?
