Hi so I intend to start a 5-year Master’s in Accounting program next fall my senior year. I am wondering how many hours are good to take. To graduate at my designated time, I need to take at least 15 hours per semester. BUT I have no idea how much more work a graduate-level class is compared to my regular ones thus far.
My schedule next fall:
Corporate Finance (people complain about this class so I suppose it’s difficult?)
Intermediate Accounting III (professor says I need it for CPA but it’s an elective)
Advanced Accounting <-- GRADUATE-LEVEL
Auditing <— GRADUATE-LEVEL
Accounting Information Systems (have no idea what goes on in an AIS class but I hear it’s more “theory-based”)
I was thinking of adding a third graduate course (either advanced managerial accounting or international accounting) but IDK would that be too much? I’ve done 18 hours before and did fine but that was with easier classes. But I figured won’t I be at a point where I’m taking all graduate classes anyways?
Do you think 18 hours with these kind of courses is too much? How much more work are graduate classes?
Any input is appreciated.
