Work Studies

I've gotten Work Studies for 1900 and I do not believe I need it anymore. Scholarship season was amazing and I got leftover money so then what should I do now? How would I forfeit Work Studies? Would it be better for me to call in and tell them I don't need it? Wait until next quarter or what? They said that if I don't do work studies for Fall, it'll forfeit itself, so should I just do that? Seems a bit irresponsibile to me though. Thanks

do nothing

You might want to contact them through the email listed there. Also, ask if you should defer it. I don’t know if the “Use it or Lose it” counts for more than one year, but you might want a job later if your scholarships run out. You might also want to defer it because you never know if you may just want a job to build your resume or something, and Work Study would make it a lot easier for you to get a job.

if u work, and earn 1900, do u get paid in cash? how do u get paid?

and can u work even if u dont need work study?

Yes, you get paid with paycheck. You don’t have to have work study in order to work in on campus.

Has anyone without the work-study program in their financial aid package had experience looking for a job in campus or around Goleta? I’m interested in getting one but I didn’t qualify for work-study.

if u earn 1900 a semester, do u have to fill a tax form for yourself?>

yup. you or your parents.

y? isnt it like 8,000 a year or somehting

bumpin bumpin

Does anyone have info on how to get a work study job through the library? I looked on the job board and didn’t see any listings from the library. Is this because the library has all of the workers it needs? or is it that they just haven’t posted jobs needed yet?
