Work Study Jobs...

On my aid thing I got 750 dollars towards work study, yet work study jobs are typically part time 6 to 10 hours a week for the entire semester.

If after taxes I got 5 dollars an hour and worked 10 hours a week... That's 750 dollars for 15 weeks. However, what if you were paid more than this? What if you worked enough or were paid enough to make 1,500? Do you get that money?

Or do you get the 750 for working (through the grant) and then get paid hourly on top of that?

And there were no listings up yet at the school site for these jobs... but curious if tutoring jobs count? I'd hopefully be able to be an english tutor. I tutoring at the other college I attended and did a good job, so hopefully Im qualified for that, dunno.

Anyway... just gimme some info on this please.

bump.......

Your question is going to be college-specific, as each school has their own policies. You may be able to be paid more or work more hours, if the job is available. That work-study amount may just be the minimum you are guaranteed to get, and it may not be. Call the school up and ask your questions.

For my school, the $750 is the cap. You will not be eligible to receive more than this amount.

After this $750 is used up, your employer will have to pay the full wage to you (not the 1/2). I am not sure if he/she would be interested in this; you will have to ask.
