Hello. I just got a job for my work study. The job category didn't require work study but it said 'work study may be used.' My question is : so when i do fafsa next year, will I have to do tax returns as well? and Is doing work-study a disadvantage to my financial aid (will they give me less money since I'm earning money)?

Thank you.

I don’t think you need to do tax returns unless you worked for more than your work study amount. Like, if your work study amount is $2,000, but you work enough to make $3,000, that work study amount of $2,000 you don’t have to file tax returns for.

And I don’t think work study would impact the amount of financial aid you get (it would be kinda messed up if it did).
