Working as an Engineering Tech vs Internship

<p>How does working as an Engineering Tech compare to having only internship experience? </p>

<p>The reason why I am asking is because I have a friend who is an Aerospace Engineering major, his GPA is not really all that good( 2.6) but he found a part time job working as an Engineering Tech doing Aerospace related stuff.</p>

<p>I was just wondering how companies see engineers who have actually worked as engineering techs vs someone who only had internships before graduation.</p>

<p>Quick Answer: In of itself, not much difference between the two, what matters is how you answer the question an employer will ask about your job experience.</p>

<p>What did you learn and how did you use it?</p>

<p>Of course, having any experience, internship or a part time Engineering tech job, is a significant plus. If that experience can be related to the job you’re applying for…it’s a major competitive edge.</p>
