Working for an NGO

<p>Not sure what thread I should put this in, but I just need some input.</p>

<p>What is it like working for and NGO, like MercyCorps (just salary and in general stuff)?</p>

<p>Also what type of majors/minors would be good for getting a job with an NGO? Right now I am majoring in Political Science because its kind of interesting and I don't know what else to do.</p>

<p>Very few jobs are specifically set aside for certain majors. You should speak with the company’s recruiting staff about the openings and the profiles of new hires and their duties. If they need 10 CompSci majors but only 1 slot for “open” applicants, then you’ll know where you stand.</p>
