Working full-time for 16 years old

Hi.

Is it possible to work full-time for 16 years old? I know it is only possible during vacations on a regular school schedule. But what if I'm doing dual-enrollment with some (let's say so) of the classes online?
Thanks in advance.

It probably depends on the state. I know, for example, that NY caps the amount of hours for minors ages 16 & 17 that attend school at 28 for a school week and 40 for a non-school week. You'd have to check out the regulations for where you live.

Yeah I think it depends on where you live.

A lot of places in CA don't even like to hire minors because they can't work as many hours if they're in school.

yeah, i havent been able to get a job in washington even though i am 17. businesses here generally just want older people.

Where I live it's legal to work as many hours as you want as long as it starts and ends at the right times. Most places won't consider you full-time, though. A 17 year old at the place I work works 50 hours a week during the summer, but she's considered part time because she doesn't work much during the school year (like 10 hours/week). Businesses won't put you on full-time anyway because then they'd have to give you benefits like paid vacation and sick time.

In Illinois you can. Most people just do it for little jobs like at grocery stores and stuff.
