I've been looking over my aid packages and Im looking at about $2300-2800 in work-study for the upcoming year. Is this a lot? Is work-study easy... inconvenient? Does it cut in on your social life?

Im just trying to figure out how much Im going to have to work.

Work-study is great but the jobs on-campus fill up rather quickly. They’re really convenient because you get to schedule your hours around your classes. Plus, during midterms and finals week, bosses are usually pretty lax about what times you get to come in. The jobs are mad easy. It usually entails sitting at a desk and doing easy tasks like paper filing or going to pick something up at another building.

My advice to you is to apply as early as possible for jobs or you’ll be stuck working at the dining hall. Your university should post the available jobs online right before the first week of classes starts.

At BC, I believe the max hours you could work per week was 20 or so. I hope that helps.
