I was accepted to the Marshall School of Business at USC, but also into the new World Bachelor in Business offered by USC, Bocconi, and HKU. I'm conflicted about which one to choose. My parents prefer World Bachelor in Business because it is slightly cheaper over the 4 years and they believe the newness of the program will be a draw for future employers. I prefer staying at USC for 4 years because the program is established and well known. Additionally I've been moving my entire life (never lived in one country for longer than 4 years), and I thought staying somewhere for a longer amount of time would be a good new experience for me. So pretty much I need help choosing the between the programs. Which one has a better reputation? Which one do you think will be the most beneficial for finding a job? (I understand there is no data on WBB yet... so information I get may not be accurate, its still worth a shot though)

bump…

that’s a good question… it is entirely up to you and your wishes. if your entire life you have been moving around, it might be better for you to experience what it is like staying in one place and making maybe deeper connections.
there are a lot of benefits to both sides, but it definitely sucks to always have that feeling in the back of your mind that you won’t be remaining much longer in a place. everything seems so temporary…
by the way, did you receive an e-mail notification regarding the WBB from USC? or an envelope in the mail?

Well I replied through Bocconi, and I found out online. I applied to USC separately.

bump…

An email notifying WBB successful candidates went out today with a letter to follow. It looks like a very exciting program but who knows what future employers and grad schools will think.

I was accepted to the WBB program as well and I’m conflicted about the program just because it’s so new, but the opportunity does seem amazing. Learning other languages and cultures in addition to creating an international network, especially in business seems like it would attract a lot of future employers and grad schools, but again no one knows. Then again, I’ve lived in one place my entire life, so my circumstances are a little different. My top choices right now are between WBB and another school towards the east.
