I submitted all my USC WBB materials by the deadline of Dec. 1st, and today when I check the status of my video interview on LikeLive I got an error saying that

"Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to accept your video submission. This message will be removed when the problem is resolved. Please try again later."

Is this something that needs to be fixed on my end? I cannot re-upload another video without them giving me the clearance, and my video file was the accepted format and well below their maximum file size. Will this affect my admissions and cause my application to be treated as late (the time stamp on video submission is on time)? I've already contacted LikeLive support but they have yet to contact me back...Anyone else have similar issue? Help? Insight?

Thanks so much in advance :)

My video is 5:07 long. The limit on the website says "4 minutes maximum" but the USC questions say

"Please take up to 2 minutes to introduce yourself to us and tell us why you are an ideal candidate for this program.

Please take up to 2 minutes to describe how this program, in contrast to a more traditional program, is aligned with your goals during college and beyond.

Please take up to 1 minute to tell us something that we wouldn't otherwise know about you by reading your application or listening to your earlier answers."

So I'm assuming USC is allowing for 5 minutes?

Mine was about 4:45. I think you should definitely record it on a camera, phone, or on your computer’s webcam and then UPLOAD it to the LikeLive site rather than recording it directly from your webcam, because if you do that there is no limit on the length of the video, the only limit is on the file size.

In regards to some of your other concerns, my video submission was not officially processed until early morning December 2nd (today,) but I called the office to see whether or not my application would be reviewed and they said that the brief delay was fine. As long as your Common App and Writing Supplement was officially submitted on/by December 1st you should be fine, good luck!

Thanks uppersanddowners! That’s exactly what I did. I filmed on a camera, and then uploaded to LikeLive. I’m just concerned with this error. I got all my supplements, scores, transcripts and even the video in before the deadline. I don’t know why the error just showed up today and not yesterday…considering LikeLive says it only takes 20 minutes to process. Ahh I’ll see what LikeLive says, and email admissions from there. Hopefully everything is fine, and good luck to you as well!

emilyy5117 - I believe so. It is not listed anywhere on the commonapp, but it is listed on the USB WBB page.

If you continue having issues definitely shoot them an email or call the office, better safe than sorry!

@emily5117 - Yup every candidate for the program must submit a video interview, but it’s 3 simple questions and the process is pretty quick and painless

My LikeLive account now displays the same technical difficulties message, but it is with a “ready” status and I saw on my screen when it finished uploading a “Upload Succesful” Message. Since the two are contradicting, I will ask admissions to confirm, but is my video already uploaded or is there a problem I am not realizing?

@infinitely2014 are submitting the video just now? because if so then you are past the deadline date for WBB I believe, and that is probably why the video is not being uploaded. However, if you submitted before dec 1st, then you might be experiencing the same problem as a lot of us.

@strategy1 I got an upload successful too when I uploaded, is your video still “processing?” Mine says the technical difficulties message as well as “processing.” and I uploaded on the 1st… I would call just to be sure for your situation bud. I’m calling tomorrow as well.

@emilyy5117 I saw the error when I logged in today after I got home from school in the afternoon. It might have happened earlier, but that was the time when I noticed the error.

I contacted USC and likelive and they said they received my video.
Basically if your video appears under “manage videos” and says “ready” you guys should be fine
And they said that just submit your video as soon as possible so a little later is fine.

Mine wasnt done processing until this morning

Yep, I contacted LiveLive as well and all my stuff has been sorted out and is in order :). Best of luck to everyone else applying, hahaha there is a slight possibility that some of us could end up meeting each other ;).

For anyone else experiencing this issue:

1) Check the status of your LikeLive video. If it has been “processing” for more than 24 hours you might want to shoot LikeLive an email. Their website said processing takes about 20 minutes.

2) If you see the orange notification bar on top of your screen that says “video not accepted due to technical difficulties,” check the status of your video by going to “manage videos.” If your video has a green check mark, then you should be good to go regardless. However, still maybe shoot LikeLive an email just to be sure.

3) If you see the orange notification bar on top with the error, and your video still says “processing” after 24 hours, contact LikeLive support and they should be able to delete the submission and let you try submitting again.

If you have any technical issues contact the LikeLive support team. Contacting USC doesn’t really help as they will just refer you to LikeLive for technical issues, as USC does not directly handle the whole uploading platform.

Been wondering the same thing. I believe standard decisions is sometime in March, but since we applied early on 12/1 and for the WBB we should maybe hear back earlier? I’ve been looking around online for a bit, and can’t seem to find the date.

I’m currently a WBB student and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Last year the US applicants were admitted to USC first, about a week later we received a shortlisted letter for the WBB program and final confirmation came by mail soon after. It may be different with this application year.

@sesson Hi! I have a few questions. Before you got admitted to the WBB program, did you go through the “rounds”. When do you get notified that you are a finalist/semi-finalist? and how long after that do you actually get the results?

Also, I hope this is not too personal but how are the stats of the current WBB students?
does everyone have amazing GPAs in high school or is it half split between students with experience, excellent grades, or both?

@infinitely2014 sorry for the delay in reply. The procedure may not be the same for you, but i received the first notification March 15th and final confirmation April 1st. We are a very diverse, international class and I am sure the admissions committee considers all components of a candidates application.
