Worried about getting in!

Okay so here are my stats, my friends keep telling me that I will get in but I don't know.....

Okay I have a 4.8 out of 6 Weighted GPA (I know it's kind of bad)
My unweighted is 3.2 out of 4.

Me SAT score was

CR-590
Math-620
Writing-610

that was on my second time!

I got into NHS my senior year, I have been in band for four years now, playing the Tuba!
I was in Debate for two years, StuCo for one year, Chess club for two years, and I am currently doing an independent project for the science fair.

My community service adds up to over 200+ hours, as I have been doing church stuff for seven years now, I got almost every weekend.

.....I trust this site and it's members please advise me.

Hi HazerLight.
In order to answer your chances thread I need a few things.

Home State:
Type of School: (parochial, competitive public, 5A Rural, etc.)
Class Rank:
Class Size:
Percentage:
and
Senior Schedule:

Based solely off what I see here I'd say you probably have a 60% chance. But answer those questions and I'll reevaluate.

Also, I am currently a High School senior who lives in Texas, so I'm by no means a definitive answer for you.

Well here are your answers

Home State:Texas
Type of School:public
Class Rank:101
Class Size:458
Percentage:top 25%
and
Senior Schedule:
Scientific Research and development
English AP
Govt AP
Eco AP
BAnd IV
Cal AB AP
Bio AP
CompSci AP

I'd say now that you've probably got an 80% chance. You're so close to an automatic admit, is there any way you can retake your SATs to get a 1300?

^ Too late for that now.

I'd say 75% chance. Pretty sure you'll get in.

Lol, yeah I wish I could take it again!

Well thank you for your inputs!

I am very nervous, I am going to submit my application in two days. I just have to edit my essays and finish the third essay!

lol yea me too .. i have similar stats as you and nervous as hellz .. good luck to everyone

You've definatly got a good shot. Your ECs are really good, so I think that will carry you in.

DP

I would say IN based on class rank and strength of schedule. But im not an admissions counselor.

Hey guys!

I also wanted to know if I should write the third essay!

And I also did academic decathlon for two years!
And I made state in National History Day sophomore and junior year.

Yes, write the thrid essay. You should do it if you're not automatically in. It shows you're willing to work lol

DP

Hey does it matter if I said I would be interested in applying for a Pre-professional program?

Man I am so worried!

I'm pretty sure essay C is required for everyone applying to A&M, I may be mistaken though

No, essay C is optional. But if you are not an automatic admit, you should consider it mandatory.

Yeah, sorry about that, you're right. I was under the impression that it was required when the application directed you to that seperate page with Essay C on it (not the page with all the essays on it but the page after).

If you're planning on writing it, you better get to town on it and definitely don't worry! (It certainly won't help with anything!)

Make sure you have killer essays and you should be in
I'm sure you will get into general studies but if your trying for Mays(business), i suggest you try to transfer in after a year in general studies due to the heavy competition this admissions cycle

No I am not interested in Business, I put my first major as Biology then the second was general studies!

I talked to some people and they said that getting into the general studies program is not hard, I rally just want to get into A&M then I will see what I want to do! When the application asked me whether I would be doing a pre-professional program I said I would like to do Pre-Med so yeah, I don't know about that but yeah general studies sound good to me.
