I sent in my common application to the one school I'm applying to ED. I am a recruited athlete so the deadline was oct. 1. I was extremely happy with my supplementary essay, so when my english teacher wanted us to submit a piece of writing at the start of the semester I asked if it was ok to submit that essay. She said it was, so no I am not self-plagiarizing. We were required by our teacher to submit it via Turnitin. My common app and supplement were already submitted to the school at this time. Basically I'm just worried that if admissions runs my essay through turnitin that it will come up as plagiarized. My counsellor said not to worry because I am the original author, and they will see that I submitted my common app before the essay was in the turnitin database... Do you think I'm ok? This is definitely my original work and I am just a worrywart.
