Worried about my GPA

I'm looking into an ECE major at Cornell. Just finished up my freshmen year and as it stands I have a 2.7 GPA. I'm really kicking myself in the shins cause I got all B's last semester but a C+ in Physics and then all B's this semester but a C+ in my liberal studies on Ancient Egypt, believe it or not. That was supposed to be my easy A.

I'm kind of worried about my GPA right now, as I would have loved to raise it above or at 3.0 by this time. I'm not sure if I dug myself into a deep hole already and what I should do. Can anybody offer any perspective on this? Ideally, some upperclassmen and engineering majors at Cornell.

Thanks.

Far from being in a hole. Without knowing your exact courses or study habits, only thing I can recommend is making use of all your resources and free tutoring. I would find a friend and some of the same classes together. Personally, I find group studying with the right people keeps you focused.

2.7 isn’t a bad gpa. Definitely room for improvement. Just put in a exttra few hours studying a week
