Hello, i am currently in my junior year of Electrical Engineering. I need some guidance as to what i should do. The problem: i have a 2.340 gpa with a total of 72 credits completed. Work is the main reason as to why it is low, ive been working at a bank since freshman year. I did quit and took a break for one year since i was in probation and was able to boost my gpa to a 2.5 only to see it drop due to difficult classes that i completed. This fall i am back to work but only this semester, so i can save enough to not have to work next year. Only problem is that i am taking Differential Equations and Chemistry, although i work 25 hours the subjects are difficult since my professors do not really explain in detail. University has been a little disappointing since i have been teaching myself at least 60% of the time. I do not plan on quitting. Any thoughts on how i could raise my gpa or time management, school, life? If you have been through this same scenario or similar, how did you cope with it? I am all out of ideas.

Does your work schedule conflict with the times that professors and/or TAs set aside to answer students’ questions? How about study groups – does your work schedule make it difficult for you to participate in them?

It may be that you have to take a lighter courseload while you work, because you just need a certain amount of time to digest the material. See if you can work something out with the registrar at your school.
