worst SAT experience ever

what was wrong yesterday:

loud proctor who made us jump in our seats everytime she literally yelled out STOP!

no air conditioning

biggest one: for the essay section, they didnt write down the start and stop time on the board and never said we had 5 minutes left. I doubt anyone finished.

I know they look at how a group does but will they compare essays? That really affected how I took the rest of the test.

I'm right there with you. My room was EXTREMELY cold. The cold combined with perhaps some Nyquil left in my system from the night before led to concentration issues. There went my 800 in math :(.

Our room was right across the hall from some very loud construction- drills and hammers. The lights kept flickering, too.

this kid sitting two seats away from me was shaking his legs so bad that the whole floor was vibrating, and when the procter asked him to stop he said "i have ADD i cant help it". He did it the entire test, so not only was my body, chair, seat, desk, hand shaking along with him, but the sound of his leg bouncing up and down was even more annoying. It wasnt just normal shaking of the leg, but hard core- both legs and everything. During the reading, i had to plug my ears to try to concentrate, but i swear i still heard it. I know it probably doesnt sound bad, but I do have trouble concentrating and that made it 100 times worse

The desk was so small that I could only fit my test booklet on there. I had to hold the calculator and answer sheet in my hand, and filling in the blanks took a lot of shuffling around. The proctor only call the time twice, at 20 min and stop.

I wonder how SAT tests will be administered in the future. I doubt they'll continue to have crappy testing conditions, but then again...

We stopped the french test in between the listening and reading parts for a good ten or fifteen minutes while the procotor tried to figure out if someone could retake the listening part of the test since her CD player back fired. Not a big thing but it was sort of annoying (Everyone but the proctor knew what the answer was going to be) and broke my concentration a bit :</p>

I had a bad experience with the last PSAT that I took. During the writing section, a little girl started crying REALLY loudly in the hallway. I couldn't concentrate until she stopped!

we had the middle school PA system come on for announcments during the middle of the first CR section on the PSATs..it was a nightmare. That was the hardest section too...

I tested at USD yesterday and apparently during the Oct session there was some event organized with a large live band, all the scores from it were cancelled, bummer.

The protecter I had didn't tell us how much time we had either. I'd prefer they do so, because they I'll know how many questions I'll be able to do. Damn inconsiderate proctors.

No heat, no airconditioner, say hello to all the schools around here. Air conditioners never happen, but now we have a new heating system so we do get some heat. Along with it comes a loud intake/outtake systems. When they go off, everyone shuts up and looks astonished at how quite it is.

are proctors supposed to call the time? Mine only said "start" and "stop." Good thing I had my trusty stop watch ;).

Mine was taken in a gym, we used the score clock as a timer. It was a great testing center, but the damn buzzer made me jump out of my seat every time.

the guy sitting in front of me farted. it was nasty. and he kept moving and distracting me. he kept hitting me with his hat when he leaned back. it was horrible. i just wanted to get out of my chair and choke him. but i didn't.

then this guy cancelled his SAT score. he wasted his four frinkin' hours taking the test without the calculator (he forgot to bring it) and distracting me!

On my last test some girl WHO DOESN'T EVEN GO TO MY SCHOOL was sick and sitting in the row next to mine. She sniffled every other second THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE TEST. I didn't even hit 600 in any section when I was totally prepared, because I was so distracted. I want to find her and strangle her!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't planning to take it again, thanks chickie!!!

on my last SAT test, I was sick so everything I read was like a friggin blur and on top of that, the friggin school band was practicing for HC outside near the windows. That test had probably the worst testing condtions ever.

the guy behind me (subject test) was reading out every single question for ush I think.. and it was really annoying.. proctor didnt even notice.. and i dont think anyone else could hear him.. but when you are trying to do math and someone's reading history.. its distracting

rage-against-the-machine i'm-too-kool-4-skoolers sitting in the corner of the room that stopped 10 minutes into the psats, making random bird noises, hitting their desks loudly, moaning, and when someone told them to shut up, they came up with the most ridiculous preschooler answer.. i think something along the lines of, "then why don't YOU be quiet"? but yeah, and the proctor did nothing. ever.

edit: oh, and the psats are free for juniors at my school, so that kind of explains why they were there in the first place. actually it doesn't, huh? i don't understand why they came at all, really.
