Worth applying NYU Steinhardt Early Decision II?

I know that NYU has a second pool for the early decision option...due to these last minute circumstances of having decreased chances of having my application reviewed by other schools, do you all think it's worth applying by committing to this binding agreement? Or would Steinhardt be considered a more "easier" school that doesn't necessarily require the 9% increased acceptance rate? I am a prospective Piano Performance major btw.

(I know this is alarmingly last minute, but something occurred in my personal life 2 months ago that really stunted my application process; please understand)

I was wondering about if Steinhardt is considered to be one of those “easier” schools to get in. Anyway, I am a prospective violin performance major and I did regular decision for NYU. I would say go with regular decision since you aren’t completely sure whether or not if you would really want to enroll there even if you get in. Early decisions are i guess more for…students who have a definite dream school they want to get in?

I would only apply ED if you know that you want to go to NYU more than anywhere else. I don’t think that you’ll improve your chances of acceptance all that much by applying ED, especially for an audition-based program. Were you planning on applying to NYU anyway? It sounds like you’re trying to use ED just to boost your chances of getting in somewhere (rather than a school that you really are interested in attending), and I would advise against it.
