Worth applying to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Standford, MIT, CaltTech?

If you really like CalTech look into it. Each year they admit one or two students into their BS/MD program, as well. I believe that admissions are done by admissions officers who generally have long-term relationships with their assigned high schools. Their admissions seem less “throw it over the transom” than many. They are willing to seek out multiple inputs beyond your application. In fact, I believe, though you should check this out before acting on it, that you may be able to sit down with your admissions officer, if you schedule a visit in advance, and discuss your candidacy.

While they are a very small school, applicants are self-selecting, and the admissions department is very careful in their job.

Definitely pay a visit to the campus if you have not already- scheduled through admissions, of course.

Try to determine what initiative you can display, perhaps from your internships, and also what technical challenges you have considered or completed.

Good luck!

@BobodyBizness Yeah, my school kind of has a weird way of weighing AP classes and honors classes. There are only 2 honors classes in our school which are weighted (both of which I have taken). So, in terms of weighting, I have technically taken 7 AP classes, and have received A’s in all of them. Also, P.E. and other non academic classes are not included in GPA calculation. That’s why I put my UC GPA, so people could have a more accurate notion of what my GPA is.

bump
