^Check out other threads started by OP. Kinda ■■■■■■■■

How am I ■■■■■■■■?

My friend just returned after looking at campuses. He said he wasn’t impressed by Berkeley. I haven’t had a chance to ask the details but could any of you comment on this?

Yeah, that isn’t a ■■■■■■■■ kind of question.

I agree, still go for a bunch of UC’s, because they don’t require anything from the school until they accept you AND you choose the one UC you want to attend to. For example, you could apply to 8 UC’s (kinda ridiculously high number though there, just arbitrary number) without your school knowing and get accepted to all of them, but you’d only have to send one transcript if you chose to atend Berkeley or something like that.

And I think you have great chance of getting in. Your stats are better than mine and I got accepted…but you never know. But in my opinion, you should get in (just don’t hate me if you don’t, haha. That’s my disclaimer.)

Plus, about the campus. It’s certainly not the prettiest campus, I agree…but it’s not horrid or ugly. The amount of spirit there is huge, the people are nice (or at least the ones that I met), and it’s nice-looking enough. Not sure if that’s what you meant, but that’s my thoughts on it. The only negative I see is the hobos around the city, but they don’t bother you, and just don’t walk by yourself at night–but that goes for every city, doesn’t it?

If you had said “my friend visited and it didn’t appeal to him”, it would be obvious that nobody else would have any useful comment to make. If the friend didn’t find Cal appealing, then the friend shouldn’t apply.

However, you used the phrase “wasn’t impressed” which implies that their is some fault with the campus. The pejorative implication is that maybe Cal is beneath you unless we convince you to apply.

Don’t bother.

It was an implication that my friend didn’t find Cal’s campus to live up to its reputation as a school and was an appeal for clarification as to why my friend might have felt that way. Clearly, NYSP2010 understood in his comment about the beauty of the campus, which was the concern my friend had too, now that I’ve talked to him. Don’t put words in my mouth.
