I plan to major in CS. My options: Rutgers (honors college with scholarship) or UW Madison. I know Wisconsin is ranked higher but is it worth $13K more per year?
I think it really depends on your financial situation. CS is a major that generally leads to high paying jobs, and a quality education is often worth it. If it is still affordable, I believe it is worth it.
What area of the country do you want to work in after graduation?
I’m international so I’ll be grateful if I get a job offer anywhere when I graduate
@idstudent My vote is Rutgers! $52k over 4 years is a lot of money! Full disclosure, I’m a Rutgers graduate (from a long time ago!) but currently live in the Midwest. Wisconsin is a great university but so is Rutgers - don’t let the rankings be the only determining factor. Rutgers is in an urban environment close to lots of Fortune 500 companies for potential internships, and NYC is a short train ride away. Feel free to PM if you’d like more info on Rutgers.
