Is it worth memorizing the words from the Barron's book because the Xiggi's advice thing said that it isn't of much help. Did it help anyone else here?

I don't like Barron's word list so I memorized different word lists. It helped me a lot. On the PSAT I missed 6 vocab questions and on the real SAT I missed O vocab. If you're serious about about, and study the right words, it can make a huge difference.

which word lists did you use, meow?

Yes I think it's worth memorising.

I created my own word list - From the blue book, when I took the practice tests, I always got a lot of those sentence completion questions wrong, so I just noted the words that i didnt know and looked them up.
And I ended up with a nice little book of paper sat vocabs lol
Plus it stayed in my brain better because I actually looked them up and wrote them down.

yes, its worth a lot

I searched google before taking the sat and found 1000 most common sat words or something... I reviewed and transferred all of the words into powerpoint, in 4 separate files, one ABCDE, one FGHIJK, etc. Each file had like 10 sheets of 25 words or so. I went and read each sheet over and over, highlighting the words that I knew in accordance to my understanding, ie okay i sorta know this one so I highlight it yellow, I really know this one so I highlighht it blue, or I definitely know this one so I don't need to study it, and highlight it black. I still have these files, as I will be usimg them for my second run for the SAT. It definitely helped me. Although I spent hours and hours prepping solely for the vocab, it gave me the ability to ace the vocab section. It also helped my essay, as I used some of the words that stuck out. If anyone wants these lists just e-mail me at mbengtson@inbox.com. They helped me. It could just be a personal preference thingy though. good luck::::

Definitely, the words real do help you in the hard Sent. Comp. Questions. these just test your vocab. Also, they never hurt ur essay

okay thanks, I just wanted to know so that I know that I am not wasting my time

the best would be kaplan's flip-o-matic. considerably hard words
