Worth retaking?

Well I'm a rising senior looking to apply to a number of high ranked engineering schools. I have taken both my SATS and ACTS, and I've done pretty decently on each:

ACT
Composite: 35
English : 34
Math: 33
Science: 35
Reading: 36

SATS
CR: 740
Math: 720
Writing: 800

As you can see, my math score isn't top notch, and although it's a good score, it's not great. Would it be worth my time to study and retake either of these tests, to improve the math? I have been a good math student all throughout high school, but it just doesn't show up on standardized tests. I know I can get a 36 on ACT math, if I dedicate some time to it, but do those scores hurt my app that much that I should?

Schools I'm applying to (for reference; reaches only)
Carnegie Mellon (Computer science)
Cornell (engineering)
Columbia (engineering)
Georgia Tech
UMichigan
UC Berkeley

I would not recommend retaking with these test scores.

Once your scores are high enough, the specifics become irrelevant.

Other than some large state schools that admit purely by numbers, schools want to knpw about you. You’re coming into an academic community; what is your academic temperament? Are you curious? How well do you think through problems? How persistent are you when you find there’s no easy answer? Do you do more than the minimum work? Do you turn in your assignments on time? Are you articulate when you speak and write? And so on.

They also want to know what you do besides school. Hold a fast food job for twennty hours a week? Play a sport? Volunteer with a group that has a cause, whether political, environmental, health-related, animal welfare, etc.? Play an instrument or take painting lessons or write poetry? They are not looking for a laundry list but a thing or a few things that define you.

Please don’t retake or I’ll punch you from here. I’m in need of those scores do something more useful with your time like improving on ECs. Even if you are working on them already, a little more isn’t bad!

Lol. Okay you guys are right, and I’ll probably cancel my registration for the September ACT. I guess I’ve just been reading too much CC, and became too insecure about my scores, cause everyone here has a 2300+ or a 35+ on their tests. I get the point about bringing something unique to a college, and I’m working on it. Lol ill just devote my efforts towards scoring well on SAT 2’s, which hopefully makes up for my perceived math ineptitude.

I believe that a 33 on the Math ACT corresponds to 750 ish in the Math SAT I, this would not be a perceived ineptitude at any school on your list (or any school not on your list either) – to be honest, I’d say the same thing about your actual 720.
