So last year during AP season, my first go-around, I foolishly selected to send my scores to Notre Dame before I took the test. As it turned out, I did VERY bad on one of the tests (failed).
I know that AP scores don’t play a role in admissions, but is it worth withholding the score from the college? Will it look really bad if I don’t?
No to both questions. It’s not worth the time and money to bother with it. They will only be used for credit and/or placement. The clerk in the registrar’s office who processes the scores will not be thinking, "Hmmm, hsalem failed AP XYZ; I wonder how we accepted him/her. And even if she did think that, it’s not like you will ever cross paths with her on campus.
However, if you decide to withhold, nobody will care either.
@skieurope thanks! I won’t even worry about it then.
I would withhold. They ARE used in the admissions process, and a failure would be a red flag.
