Speaking of “useless”, this post seems very “useless”. I can do alot more with a political science degree than a person with an engineering degree. Those types of degrees are specialized fields, requiring very little analytical ability. This is why specialized fields such as most forms of engineering, except civil engineering are more easily outsourced than say magazine editor or lawyer. I’m not using the best examples, but I hope you understand what I am getting at. No degree is useless, it is the person that holds the degree that is useless if they can’t do anything with it. Did you know Karl Rove never graduated from college? The man has no degree, not even an A.A.

If what you say about Karl Rove is true then that should be an inspiration for us all to graduate :p

i don’t think engineering is something that requires “very little analytical ability” since (i think im assuming rather safely) it involves a ton of math.

by the way, a business major has got to be the most useless major if you ask me

alot of business majors specialize in accounting or finance. This makes it a very viable degree for working in banks, financial institutions, or even wall street.

Also when I was talking about analytic ability, I meant to also add effective communiction.

a -------- lot

You fail to mention WHY Karl Rove didn’t get a degree.

"In 1969, at the University of Utah, he signed up for the College Republicans, and showed enough promise that the organization dispatched him to Illinois the following year to work as a campus organizer in the unsuccessful United States Senate campaign of Ralph Tyler Smith, who had been appointed to the seat of the Senate’s Republican leader, Everett McKinley Dirksen, after Dirksen died. This amounted to hitting the big time, because Illinois was the most active College Republican state. In 1971, Rove became a prot

Supa Ragma what are you, the argument police? Iask’s point is valid whether you deem it credible or not.

Your post is contradictory anyways.
From: “It’s not what you know its who you know”
To: “Karl Rove did take a bunch of poli sci classes and was personally educated by other politicians”

karl rove is a moron…don’t use him as an example use Richard Branson who dropped out at age 16

or Osama Bin Ladin who attended The Institute of Anal Leakage, but dropped out when his “garage gang” better known “Cave Rokkers” was picked up by a popular label

…the rest is history

or use FIDDY Cent who completed some units at the University of Hard Knocks and then transferred to another facility for 7-12 with the possibility of parole…look at what he has done…look at what he has given us

somethin sometin CANDYSHOP…somethin somethin what i got
inspirational

or use 2pac, who when to University of Rap Gangs and Yo (better know as urgay)

his career is still rollin…

okay im done

this is a forum, not a research paper. I do not have to back up anything. I was only stating my opinion and making a point. I even left it open to other’s suggestions for examples. Thank you so much for your concern.
