Would colleges look at me as try hard and overkill if I take bunch of SAT subject tests?

Looking through the list, I thought why not just take them at the end of the school year when i just finished the course? As a sophomore, I am doing biology, chemistry, calculus, us history, and english. Would it be bad to take the respective subject tests?

No, but that many are not necessary, and that will be a ton of studying. Hardly any colleges require three. The collegs you are interested in will tell you whihc knee they are looking for. So,it isn’t bd, but it’s overkill. Study really hard for a couple and do really well. Use all that saved time for something else.

It isn’t necessarily bad but your effort may be better spent studying more for fewer exams. Your choice.

If you take them all and do poorly on one you will still have to disclose all for schools such as Penn that require all testing.

Engineering programs usually require one physical science and one math with math 2 being preferred or required. If you are not doing STEM then any 2 subject tests are the most you will need. A couple of schools want 3 but you would have to look up which. I would explore the requirements for the schools that interest you.

What’s the point of expending the time, money and effort? What are you hoping to accomplish?

Alternatively, the AO may view you as a test taking drone that has nothing better to do on a Saturday. You’re btetter off using your time more effectively, IMO.

Take the practice tests in the CB book and then pick the 2 or 3 that you think you will do best on. Also give higher priority to math and science if you will be a STEM major.

If you are inclined, and want to cover your bases, you could take one science, Math 2 and one in the humanities. I would think that would be all you’d need.

There’s a limit to how much salt you should shake on your food to enhance the flavor.
