hi guys im going to be a freshman next year and I was wondering if doing rosetta stone over the summer would help me in spanish. I dont want to being doing good in all my classes and have spanish dragging my gpa down. Any other suggestions would be great
Would be a waste of time. Rosetta Stone is near useless for truly learning and language.
And Spanish 1 isn’t that hard at all. Just study whatever vocab your teacher gives you.
You don’t need to spend all that money on Rosetta Stone if you want to start self-studying Spanish before next school year. Rosetta Stone seems to be a complete hit or miss with a lot of people, so you may not want to risk spending $100+. There are plenty of free resources you could use online.
I used SpanishDict a lot when I took Spanish, if you ever need a dictionary reference. You could also try Duolingo (free), it could give you a good heads start in Spanish.
Do you have a reason to believe that you might do badly in Spanish? Before 9th grade I wanted to get a head start on Spanish too so I got these Spanish CDs that were suppossed to teach Spanish in 30 days I believe but they were so boring that I never used them. And once I actually started Spanish I realized it was super easy and I didn’t need to prepare beforehand. So don’t waste money on Rosetta Stone.
I would say that Rosetta Stone would be a waste. If it is possible travel to a Spanish-speaking country where your around native Spanish-speakers. That is the best way to learn a language. A more reasonable solution is to watch Spanish movies. DuoLingo is good and so is Memrise.
