Would google hire an EE?

My question is would google hire an EE major with a significant amount of programing experience seen through a minor in computer science and research in a programming oriented area (Artificial Intelligence).

Also how hard is it to transition from a bachelors in EE to a Masters in CS at one of the UC's (UCLA, UCB, USC, UCSD) Stanford and CMU? I will have taken enough CS courses to get a minor in CS and a couple upper division courses about AI (Machine Learning). Are there any other courses that would be recommended for me to take?

Thanks

I also wasn’t restricting companies to just Google, any software company: Microsoft, Yahoo, Amazon, Apple ect.

I don’t see why not. At my alma mater, computer engineering was a concentration within electrical engineering. It’s not uncommon for the two fields to be combined into a single department.

Most companies in programming will give potential candidates a programming test during their interview. Regardless of your major, if you do well on the test – then they assume you know what you’re doing.

yes, they will.

I know someone in EE who has done 3 work terms with google. So the answer is yes.

Also do these companies hire with just a bachelors, or is a masters preferred?

BS or MS are both fine for those companies.
I think google MIGHT prefer MS but plenty of people with just BS work there.
