Hi, I got into Princeton early and Georgetown RD. Georgetown has always been my top-choice school, and I’m still considering going, but it’s significantly more expensive than Princeton. Would the FA office match, even if the new amount is over $10k under EFC??
I mean, it can’t hurt to ask, but you should be prepared for the answer to be “no.” Princeton has vastly superior financial resources compared to Georgetown, and GU does not use financial aid to try to ‘win’ admitted students away from other schools, so getting more generous aid from Princeton is unlikely to induce GU to offer more.
In a word, no. Princeton has the best financial aid program in the world. It doesn’t consider equity and has a very high income threshold. Given your different EFCs, it is likely your family has considerable assets or equity. It is very unlikely that Georgetown will be able or willing to match Princeton.
