Would having too many units jeopardize chances of transferring?

I have gotten denied in 3 of the schools I have applied to, 2 of them denied, which I believed was a sure thing. So I am at very difficult situation righit now.

I currently have about 90 units, and see how it would affect me academically if i spend another year in community college, which i belived would force me to go over 100 units.

I am planning on filling out application for CSU mostly, and UC Merced.

Otherwise, I would have to lean toward Bakersfield or other late-accepting colleges.

You can take as many community college classes as you want, however CSU’s and UC’s will only accept a maximum of 70 transferable semester (or 105 quarter) units from community colleges.

You should look into what 4 year schools are available.

I agree - why wait? You’ll be wasting time. Focus on the doors open to you now.
Good luck
