Here’s my question. Would I be able to earn a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree at the same time? For example, a Masters in Statistics and a Bachelors in Finance. Also, would this cost more money and would it take more time? Thanks in advance!
Do you already have a different bachelor’s degree?
Need more info. But, the short answer is that it depends upon your particular school.
I do not already have a different bachelor’s degree; I am currently applying for college now. I just want to know that instead of earning a dual-degree that I could earn a bachelor’s and a master’s simultaneously. What other info would you need?
Well it will generally vary by school and field as well, and there is no way the folks on this site have all possibilities covered. That said, no, it is not generally possible to earn the two simultaneously because a master’s degree assumes and builds upon all of the knowledge and experience gained while earning the bachelor’s degree. The exception is if you get into a 5-year BS/MS or BA/MA program, which condenses the final year of your bachelor’s degree and first year of your master’s degree into one year, and they you get both simultaneously at the end of 5 years.
Yes, for example, many colleges offer 5 yr. BS/MS tracks for high achieving engineering students. But the degrees would be in the same field, e.g. mechanical engineering. Basically, students start taking masters level courses in their senior year. Finance/Statistics seems too diverse - not enough overlap.
Thanks so much!
